My Definition of What a Friend is…

'A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and will sing it back to you when you’ve forgotten the words.' (author unknown)

I’m very fortunate to have friends who do that for me when I need it, and recently Odette, one of our Inspire me Earth Angels, stepped up and did just that for me.

I was having a rough day, feeling sorry for myself, I could even say having a pity party with myself whilst working from home on an online marketing course. I was loving the course but feeling like I was running behind on everything else. I was in overwhelm, would probably be the best description for how I was feeling that day.

I completed my course and tried to get into the pile of work that was waiting for me, but it just wasn’t happening. I buried my head in my hands for a moment, and then, wonderfully, I listened to my intuition and ran a bath.

I climbed in, feeling my body begin to relax, and picked up my phone to look for some relaxing meditative music. What I found was a long thread of conversation in our Inspire Me team chat. I found the beginning and chuckled my way through the ridiculously funny conversation about cheese, or rather the lack of it.

I thanked the team and said they had just helped turn a rough day into a much better one. A couple of minutes later Ody messaged me.

She had picked up on my energy and pulled a couple of cards for me. She flicked me the pics and the words that came with them. Both cards resonated, and one in particular hit the sweet spot.

It read ‘There is one who watches over you’, and as soon as I started to ask myself who is this one? The answer was immediate ‘my Higher Being, my Inner Self, the Larger Part of Me’.

The tears flowed…

It’s interesting how we lose our way so easily. I know this stuff inside out, but some days it’s a challenge to live it. The Universe guided my beautiful friend Ody to remind me of the song in my heart, because I’d temporarily forgotten the words.

Thank you Ody, and all the other beautiful friends who do that for me.
